We reached 40 topics in the Wiki today! A milestone of some sort, I suppose.
I did contact Palladium by e-mail requesting permission to start the Wiki, and to use some images of their choice. I havn't heard anything yet, so I limited the images to those currently available on the Palladium web site, which consists mostly of book covers. Hopefully I will hear back soon. I'd really like to add images of the OCCs, equipment, etc, but we'll see what they allow us to use.
Note: I am limiting what is available to be posted on the Wiki to non-game rule information only, so only "setting meta-data" is allowed. This means you can create a entry on the Putman Stun Gun, for example, and describe it and its effects, how much it costs, etc, but you can NOT tell how much damage it does, or what the rules for its stun are. If we get permission, we'd add an image of the weapon to its page as well.

that is very reasonable, I hope Kevin agrees with the wiki. I personally would like an online index of monsters, R.C.C.'s, O.C.C.'s, and bionics that is updated and tells you which book the stuff is in. There are some indexes, and I have those, but I am on the computer most of the time and it would simplify trying to find some of this stuff. Especially with some of the stuff not being in the Ultimate Edition that appeared in the regular Rifts first edition book. That's just me, but another index should be available online. I just saw a trailer for the Promise of Power video game, I would love to have played it, but its only available with an NGage console. I wish it was available as a computer game, that would be awesome. I am currently running a rifts game and my players are having lots of fun. I blog about the game and any cool ideas I have about the game that I haven't found in any book. Hope this blog and wiki gain in popularity. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mikel! I am hoping to get all of the stuff you want into our database on the Wiki, and at least get the book information in it. Images would be great, but I don't want to break copyright, so I'm waiting on the yay or nay from PB on that one. If you'd like to contribute, please do! I'm trying to get at least one of each type of page (OCC, RCC, weapon, armor, power armor, skill, spell, etc) into the Wiki, and hopefully get a template set up for others to use (or they can copy mine). OCCs, WorldBooks, and weapons are done now, and I'm trying to get the rest done this month.
